115th DMWC Art Exhibition

March 5th-12th, 2023

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to adult (18 and older) artists in Central Iowa. The show will be classified and hung in two groups—Professional & Nonprofessional.

Criteria Professional Artists:

Artists who make a living by commissions and sales of their own original artwork for $300 or more, or

Artists who have had their original artwork accepted in two (2) or more juried exhibitions such as the Des Moines Arts Festival, Exhibits at Heritage Gallery, Iowa State Fair, or

Artists teaching classes in studio art or employed in any arts related fields.

Nonprofessional Artists:

Artists who do not qualify under the above.

RULES: Entirely original two-dimensional paintings, drawings, mixed media, watercolor, fiber art, and fine art prints (screen, intaglio, relief and lithography) may be submitted that meet exhibition guidelines. No reproductions, computer art, giclee, photographs and multi-panel works will be accepted.

Artists may submit one work meeting the following criteria:

Entry may not be larger than 30 x 36 inches including frame.

Entry may not weigh more than 35 pounds.

Entry must be framed or have folded canvas edges and be wired for hanging. No clips allowed.

Entry not properly prepared or presenting handling difficulties will not be accepted.

No artwork may be submitted a second time.

SALES: Works sold during the exhibit will be assessed a fee of 25% of the purchase price by the Des Moines Women’s Club.
